Swaroop Dara has devoted his life to the accurate, practical teaching and application of God’s Word and the spreading of the gospel. A pastor at heart, Swaroop serves as the pastor of Christ for Life Church in Long Island, NY. He is bi-vocational; works as a Middleware Engineer and has more than 15 years of experience in Information Technology. Swaroop and Suman, his partner in life and ministry, have been blessed with three boys, Jonathan, Jaedon & Justin.

While in the final semester of the M.Th. program at Liberty University, a PowerPoint report made available as part of the course on Evangelism, changed the direction of Swaroop’s life. The PPT revealed the fact that Long Island, NY which has a population of about 3 million people had less than 3% Bible believing Christians. At this point, Swaroop recognized that the Lord was calling him to devote his life to the gospel ministry. With Suman, his partner in life since 1998, Pastor Swaroop has devoted himself to the challenge of communicating practical, biblical truth and its application in the context of God’s grace within the church and also actively reaching out to the people of Long Island with the gospel consistently every week.

Before starting the church ministry in Long Island, Pastor Swaroop graduated from JNNCE, Shimoga, India.

Since October 2015, Swaroop’s pulpit ministry has been more about convicting the complacent Christian to become a follower of Lord Jesus Christ and less about creating a team of admirers for Christ and the gospel. He emphasizes that the church has chained the gospel to the pulpit and hence the person outside the church seldom gets to hear it at least once in his/her lifetime.
